This weekend, Firefighter Frank Moschella is in Colorado for the Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial, proudly representing the Eaton's Neck Fire Department.
Frank is attending in honor of his brother's friend, retired FDNY Captain Kevin "Rusty" Roth of Division 15. Captain Roth served the FDNY for 32 years and passed away on December 8, 2025, from a 9/11 related illness. His name was recently added to the FDNY WTC Memorial Wall.
Frank joined our department a couple of years ago and has been a huge asset to our department and our community. He is also following in the footsteps of his brother, retired FDNY Captain John S. "Johnny Mush" Moschella. John served 28 years with the FDNY, starting in Engine 257/Ladder 170 in Canarsie, then as a Lieutenant in Engine 287 in Elmhurst, and finally as Captain of Engine 26 in Hell's Kitchen. He passed away on December 8, 2018, from cancer related to his rescue and recovery work at Ground Zero. He is remembered as a man with a heart of gold who never had a bad word to say about anyone. A street in Farmingdale now bears his name as FDNY Captain John S. Moschella Way.
