The Eaton's Neck Fire Department will open its doors to area residents on Saturday, May 4 between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, so they can learn about what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter in their community as part of the annual RecruitNY statewide initiative. Over the last several years, it has been very tough for many fire departments throughout New York State to recruit and retain volunteers for a variety of reasons.

It is with deepest regret that the Eaton's Neck Fire Department announces that Ex-Chief and 37-year member Gary A. Hontz has answered his last alarm. In addition to his many years of dedicated service to the Department, Gary held the office of Treasurer of the Town of Huntington Fire Chiefs’ Council. Memorial visitation on Saturday, March 2 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Nolan Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport. Firematic service at 5 p.m.

Louis J. O'Neill was recently sworn in as the newest member of the Eaton's Neck Fire Department. He joins his father, Ex-Chief Kevin P. O'Neill, and his grandfather, Past Commissioner Kevin G. O'Neill, who are both active members of the Eaton's Neck Fire Department.

Louis is entering his senior year at the College at Brockport this fall and is currently enrolled in the Firefighter I course at the Suffolk County Fire Academy.

It is with deep regret that the Eaton's Neck Fire Department announces the passing of 45-year member Paul F. Westenberger. Paul was an Honorary Chief and Life Member of the Eaton's Neck Fire Department and provided many dedicated years of service to the Department as its Engineering Officer. Reposing at the Nolan & Taylor-Howe Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport. Visitation on Thursday, July 6 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Firematic service at 8 p.m.

The Eaton’s Neck Fire Department recently held their 61st Annual Installation of Officers where the new officers were installed and members were recognized for their service.
