The Eaton's Neck Fire Department is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®)—the official sponsor of Fire Prevention Week for more than 90 years—to promote this year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, “Not Every Hero Wears a Cape. Plan and Practice Your Escape!” The campaign works to educate everyone about the small but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe.
The annual parade, organized each year by the Eaton's Neck Fire Department along with the Property Owners of Eaton's Neck Beach, Inc. will step off from the firehouse at 10 AM on Thursday, July 4. If you're able, please support our Food Drive by depositing non-perishable food items in the collection bin that will be located outside the firehouse picnic area. All items will be delivered to the Ecumenical Lay Council of Northport Food Pantry by volunteer members of the Eaton's Neck Fire Department.
The Eaton's Neck Fire Department will open its doors to area residents on Saturday, May 4 between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, so they can learn about what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter in their community as part of the annual RecruitNY statewide initiative. Over the last several years, it has been very tough for many fire departments throughout New York State to recruit and retain volunteers for a variety of reasons.
It is with deepest regret that the Eaton's Neck Fire Department announces that Ex-Chief and 37-year member Gary A. Hontz has answered his last alarm. In addition to his many years of dedicated service to the Department, Gary held the office of Treasurer of the Town of Huntington Fire Chiefs’ Council. Memorial visitation on Saturday, March 2 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Nolan Funeral Home, 5 Laurel Avenue, Northport. Firematic service at 5 p.m.
Louis J. O'Neill was recently sworn in as the newest member of the Eaton's Neck Fire Department. He joins his father, Ex-Chief Kevin P. O'Neill, and his grandfather, Past Commissioner Kevin G. O'Neill, who are both active members of the Eaton's Neck Fire Department.
Louis is entering his senior year at the College at Brockport this fall and is currently enrolled in the Firefighter I course at the Suffolk County Fire Academy.
